Responsible Play
At ChefoonRest, table games sit beside the dining room as one part of an adult evening. Roulette, blackjack, poker and baccarat are hosted so that a meal can still be the centre of the night. This page sets out how the house expects play to stay measured.
Play is entertainment
A seat at the felt is not a plan for income. Bring only what you are prepared to leave on the table. When that amount is gone, return to the dining room, take a dessert, or end the evening.
Keep the meal in view
The kitchen and the salon are designed to share a rhythm. Take courses. Leave a game between plates if you wish. Do not skip food in order to remain at a table. Hosts may pause a sitting if a guest needs a longer rest.
Time and limits
Decide before you sit how long you will play. Posted table limits are there to keep the room even. Chasing a previous hand, raising beyond comfort or remaining after you had intended to leave are signs to stand up.
When to step away
Leave the salon if games stop feeling like part of supper, if you are playing to recover a loss, or if the evening is no longer enjoyable. Speak with a host. The house would rather close a table for you than keep a guest who is no longer at ease.
Adults only
Table games at ChefoonRest are for guests aged 18 and over. Proof of age may be requested. Do not ask the house to seat anyone who is not an adult.
Support beyond the house
If table games have begun to follow you outside an evening at ChefoonRest, seek guidance from recognised United Kingdom advisory services that specialise in gambling harm. Hosts can point you toward public information, but they cannot replace independent support.
Our commitment
In 2026 the salon remains small, hosted and paced. Staff are asked to watch for fatigue, to keep procedures visible and to treat every guest as a diner first. Responsible play is part of the same craft as a well-timed pass.
